Our Product Engineering team works on both externally facing features and internal tooling. We are currently embarking on a component library journey, and are looking for a senior frontend leaning engineer to join us in building accessible, scalable, and beautiful WebComponents. Experience working in the Ruby on Rails stack viewed very favourably.
We work on a per project basis with rotating project leads. A successful candidate will be comfortable leading medium scale projects, working heavily with Design and other engineers to deliver end-to-end, but equally happy contributing to projects as an individual engineer.

As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer within our team, you'll…
Build & maintain high quality software features
- Contribute a consistent stream of frontend-focused software changes to production, building significant portions of features & projects;
- Advocate for and implement best practices and coding standards, including automated test coverage, documentation, and any applicable internal architecture guidance;
- Work with the stack around your speciality to integrate your changes, as well as contribute bug fixes & smaller scale changes;
- Maintain & improve our privacy & security, accessibility, and performance standards.
Lead projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and success metrics
- With input from dev team, develop technical approach, and write up tasks to achieve the identified goals
- Build and document a release plan for dev team and stakeholders (such as support team)
- Facilitate project rituals as needed (kick-offs, check-ins, retros, etc)
Build a healthy team culture & system of work
- Role model our engineering principles;
- Contribute to architectural design decisions;
- Make informed decisions about what to work on at any given time, and clearly communicate your work focus to the team and leadership;
- Unblock more junior engineers and peers in your speciality, or when you have specific knowledge of the codebase, e.g. through pairing;
- Report privacy breaches, however small, to leadership immediately when they occur;

About you
You have proficiencies in
- Engineering concepts & patterns within modern frontend development;
- Automated testing practices;
- Accessibility practices;
- Frontend infrastructure - working with build tools (Webpack, Esbuild, Rollup, or similar), CI/CD pipelines, asset optimisation, performance monitoring;
- Documenting your changes for both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Leading medium-scale projects end-to-end.

In an ideal world, you also have
- Basic education in visual design principles (Elements of Design, design principles, typography training, animation principles)
- Experience working with marginalised communities, specifically sex workers, neurodivergent and disabled people;
- Experience in and an understanding of sex work;
- Experience in a startup environment;
- Experience designing web interfaces.
