What you'll do as P&C Operations Specialist

The team at A4 has been growing, as such we are currently looking for a People and Culture Operations Specialist who will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the P&C team.

The role will create, manage and continuously evolve processes that help us to support everyone that works at A4, whatever their needs. This includes compliance, people policies, tools (such as our HRIS), co-working spaces, benefits administration, and employee relations.

The P&C team

The People and Culture team (P&C) are the cultivators within Assembly Four (A4), nurturing an environment that supports, advocates and helps build the place for team members to do their life’s most meaningful work. We bridge the gap between A4’s org wide goals and team members’ needs.

The package

  • Starting at $127,000 + super and benefits, based on experience
  • Fully remote, flexible 32 hour, 4-day week
  • Reporting to our Head of People

What you will do

A4 is privileged to employ a highly diverse group of individuals. Diligence, empathy, kindness and discretion while under pressure should underpin how you navigate these responsibilities;

HRIS Management

  • Maintain and optimise our Human Resource Information System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date team member records, data integrity and privacy.
  • Support team members across A4 with HRIS-related queries and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure our HRIS supports our team’s evolving needs.

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Assist with ensuring A4 remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations, regularly conducting compliance audits.
  • Create, maintain and update company policies, employee handbooks, and compliance docs.
  • Be the go-to person for team members who have questions about any of our people policies.

Employee Relations Support

  • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding workplace concerns, conflicts, or grievances, ensuring everyone involved feels seen and heard.
  • Partner with your team to resolve issues quickly and fairly and with the utmost discretion to encourage positive outcomes for all parties.

Co-working Space

  • Manage the operations of our co-working spaces at The Commons, Collingwood (Melbourne) and Chippendale (Sydney), ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all team members.
  • Act as the point person for the team's day to day needs, including access, facilitating induction, organising logistics for office supplies and ensuring team members using the office are working in line with our co-working policy.
  • Management of these spaces can be done remotely.

Hiring and Onboarding

  • Assist hiring managers with advertising roles, monitoring and responding to applicants, and scheduling interviews.
  • Facilitate employment offers, contract creation, right to work checks and new team member onboarding, whilst finding ways to improve the onboarding experience for both new and current team members.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Assist in managing employee engagement surveys, and supporting action plans to enhance our employee experience.
  • Coordinate team events, workshops, and other initiatives aimed at promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

People and Culture Projects

  • Participate in P&C projects, these could include learning and development initiatives, reward and recognition and performance.

Your background

  • 3-4 years of experience in HR operations or generalist HR function.
  • Familiarity with Australian HR compliance and labor laws (NZ knowledge would be a bonus).
  • Experience working with marginalised communities, specifically sex workers, neurodivergent individuals, and people with disability will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with employees at all levels, particularly in a remote setting.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.

In an ideal world, you would also have

  • Previous experience engaging with and a willingness to learn about marginalised communities, particularly sex workers, neurodivergent individuals, and people with disability.
  • Experience in or a strong understanding of sex work.
  • Experience working in both startup environments and fully remote work settings.
