The team

Our Product Team works on both external products for our users and internal products for our colleagues in other departments. It encompasses our Product Management, Design, and Engineering functions.

The role

As a Senior Product Designer, you contribute across the entire product design process from discovery to delivery, serving as a conduit between users and the Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams. You champion user needs across both our community-facing products and internal tools for our team, ensuring they’re aligned with broader business goals.

What you will do

User experience (UX) research and application

  • You create design plans, that communicate key activities, sequencing, deliverables, check in points, and playbacks.
  • You conduct UX research, including interviews, usability tests, and surveys—particularly focused on Tryst.link users.
  • You translate research findings into actionable outcomes that guide design decisions and product strategy.
  • You communicate research outcomes clearly to stakeholders, helping shape priorities, influence product decision making, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You create and test prototypes to validate design concepts, determine minimum viable product (MVP) requirements, and iterate based on user feedback.
  • You define what’s truly needed now versus what can be learned through rapid iteration after an initial release. Work with Product Management and Engineering to ensure that any rapid iteration is included in the delivery plan.

User interface design and delivery

  • You design thoughtful, accessible, and inclusive interfaces that reflect user needs and product goals.
  • You create prototypes, flows, and visual designs that are implementation-ready and grounded in UX research.
  • You collaborate closely with product managers and front-end engineers to ensure high-quality handoff, feasibility, and alignment between design and development.
  • You contribute to the development and maintenance of the design system and component library.
  • You ensure consistency, usability, and accessibility across products and platforms, and support scalable collaboration with front-end engineers.

Strategic design practice

  • You apply evidence-based design practices across the group, ensuring inclusive, user-led approaches to solving complex problems.
  • You bring stakeholders on the journey, helping engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners adopt user-centred practices in prioritisation, delivery, and iteration.
  • You monitor and support the flow of design work, proactively identifying blockers, gaps in understanding, or missed opportunities for user engagement.
  • You represent the design function in every stage of the product lifecycle—ideation, exploration, delivery, iteration—and ensure alignment with product strategy.
  • You apply strategic design principles and UX pillars that support a consistent, inclusive, and scalable user experience across products.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • You work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to align on problem spaces, scope, and priorities.
  • You engage with internal (e.g., CX, Trust and Safety, Marketing) and external (e.g., users, partner orgs) stakeholders to ensure real-world user context and community values are considered in design decisions.
  • You contribute to planning and delivery conversations by bringing a clear point of view on user needs, design implications, and business goal alignment.
  • You help ensure shared ownership of outcomes by fostering strong communication and inclusive decision-making across teams.

Your background

  • Experience working in a senior product designer capacity, with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant achievements.
  • Proficiency in design tools, user research platforms, prototyping, and project management tools. At Assembly Four, we use Figma and Figjam for design, and Notion and Linear for project management.
  • Experience with design systems and ensuring design consistency across multiple platforms.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design decisions and concepts.
  • Proven experience collaborating within cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
